Coating Floors in a Boom Town

New concrete is the main story for epoxy flooring in Magnolia. The city had 1,393 residents in 2010 and 2,359 in 2020, a jump of about 69% in ten years. Growth on that scale means a lot of freshly poured garages, shop slabs and storefronts. New slabs are a good start for a coating, provided they are prepped properly.

What new slabs need

Builders often trowel concrete to a smooth, glassy finish or spray on a curing compound. Both keep resin from getting a solid grip. Diamond grinding opens the surface back up, and a moisture test confirms the slab has cured enough. If it needs more time, we will say so instead of coating too soon.

Higher ground, still humid

At about 272 feet, Magnolia sits well above most of the Houston area, which can help with drainage. The climate is still humid subtropical, and nearby normals show July highs of about 93F. Humidity and slab temperature still decide when we can coat, so we check both on install day.

Shop and barn floors

Census figures place about 14% of residents in rural areas, and many properties around town include detached shops. Those floors see tractors, mowers, ATVs and tools. A thick epoxy build with a topcoat that shrugs off fuel and oil holds up, and a light color makes the space easier to work in.

Small businesses on FM 1488

Magnolia sits at FM 1488 and FM 1774, and new businesses keep opening around that crossroads. Retail spaces, salons and food businesses need floors that look clean and are simple to mop. We can install decorative flake or solid color systems and schedule around your opening date.

Magnolia Questions

My Magnolia house was just built. Can I coat the garage now?

Possibly, but we test first. New concrete must cure enough to release moisture, and any builder sealer has to come off.

Do you coat barn slabs and detached shops?

Yes. Shop slabs get a heavier system topped with a chemical-resistant coat for fuel, oil and equipment traffic.

Does Magnolia's higher elevation mean I can skip moisture testing?

No. Higher ground helps drainage, but moisture can still move through a slab. We test every floor.

Can you coat a new storefront before opening day?

We can. We work around your build schedule and plan cure time so fixtures can move in on time.
